Abstract

The Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement officially took effect from August 1, 2020 and has had many strong impacts on the import and export of goods in general and seafood exports in particular of Vietnam. The rules of origin in this trade agreement are considered important content, determining whether Vietnamese seafood exporting enterprises can enjoy the incentives of the agreement or not. In fact, the rules of origin in the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement have had a significant impact on Vietnamese seafood exporting enterprises, significantly changing the exploitation, processing and export activities of seafood enterprises. Through analyzing actual data and surveying active seafood exporting enterprises, the article focuses on assessing the general impacts of the rules of origin in the Vietnam - EU free trade agreement on Vietnamese seafood exporting enterprises, pointing out the principles for developing Vietnamese seafood exporting enterprises and proposing some solutions to contribute to the development of Vietnamese seafood exporting enterprises under the impact of the rules of origin in the Vietnam - EU free trade agreement.
