Abstract

This paper presents a conceptual framework for building cost-conscious Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows within Agile software teams. With the rapid adoption of Agile methodologies and the increasing reliance on CI/CD pipelines, managing the cost of software delivery has become a critical challenge. The proposed framework addresses the growing need for cost optimization by focusing on the integration of automation, resource management, and the selection of appropriate tools, while maintaining high performance and quality in software development. Key components of the framework include defining cost-conscious CI/CD, optimizing pipeline architecture, and establishing best practices for implementation. The paper also explores the common challenges in cost management, such as tool selection and infrastructure scaling, and offers strategies for overcoming these challenges through automation and optimization. Real-world case studies illustrate the successful application of cost-conscious CI/CD workflows in Agile teams. The findings emphasize the importance of continuous monitoring and iterative adjustments to achieve sustainable, cost-efficient software delivery. The paper concludes with implications for Agile teams, highlighting the long-term benefits of adopting cost-conscious approaches, and suggests areas for future research and development in CI/CD cost management.
