Using Microsoft Power BI for Data Visualization in SAP ERP Reporting

Abstract

This research examines the connection among Microsoft Power BI’s dynamic data visualization tool and the challenges involved with traditional ERP reporting in SAP ERP systems. The SAP ERP systems depend on the static dashboards which cannot allow real-time decision-making and interactive analysis, where these systems even play a vital role for transforming and automating business processes. By facilitating the formation of user’s interaction through visual dashboards, Microsoft Power BI initiates more intuitive and accessible procedures, reducing the need for extensive technical expertise at the phase of implementation. This study explores among the key features of Power BI, highlighting their connection with SAP data sources, advanced performance in machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and handling complex datasets.by handling these features users can optimize the performance among different functions like supply chain management, human resources and finance, unlock actionable insights and moves towards operational excellence. The paper explains about the Power BI application among retail businesses under the assistance of case study for improving SAP ERP reports. The main aspects of this study are to compare the traditional SAP reporting, operational transparency, displaying the developments in data interpretation and applied decision-making among the Power BI dashboards with complex work. For the development and business growth, the research indicates the connections of Power BI with SAP ERP and promotes data-driven culture through crossing the limitations of static reporting.
